Profile:
Befriending services providing one to one support. Befriending
is provided by trained volunteers all of whom are themselves
the parents of a child with a disability. Befrienders
provide emotional support at the time of diagnosis and at
other times of change or difficulty. Referrals come
from parents of children with a wide range of disabilities.
Evaluation of the service provided has been positive.
All befrienders belong to a local support group which meets
every 6-8 weeks.
