This
scheme was officially launched at The Care Network in Radstock
following completion of the first training course in April
2001.
We
now have a total of 6 befrienders who offer emotional support
to parents living in BANES, N & W Wiltshire who have recently
learnt that their child has a disability or special educational
need, or at any other time a parent feels overwhelmed with
issues relating to their child's disability.
All
befrienders are parents of children or young people with additional
needs who will offer friendship and support in your home or
another convenient location. The service is confidential and
will continue as long as a parent wants.
