The Bedfordshire
and Luton scheme is based within the carers support organisation
Carers in Bedfordshire.
We have 12 befrienders
who meet once a month for their support and are all very keen
and committed to being there for another parent in the way
that they wish someone has been there for them.
They will visit parents
at home to listen and offer one-to-one emotional support.
They are able to do this because of their own experiences
as parents of disabled children. The befrienders have
knowledge and experience which you can tap into and hopefully
find useful.
We take referrals
through health and social services and parents are also welcome
to contact Elaine directly themselves.
