Profile:
We are very busy
in NE Lincs, seven new befrienders finished training in April
and new training is to start in September.
Referrals are coming
in weekly, and there is currently a small waiting list of
parents needing our support. In the meantime, we are arranging
regular coffee mornings and get togethers so that parents
won't feel so isolated and can give each other mutual support
until befriending is available.
Dad's Breakfasts
continue to be popular. These are held approximately every
two months and are open to Dad's, step dads and male carers
of disabled children. We provide a full English breakfast
at a central venue and the Dad's do the rest!
We are also very involved
in the local Aiming High Parent Participation events, with
a large proportion of our befrienders and parents being involved.
We are looking to organise
a family picnic and visit to the local Police Station during
the summer holidays.
Sleep Solutions
Sleep Solutions is
now up and running in NE Lincs with two trained sleep practitioners
offering Sleep workshops to parents and professionals and
one to one clinics for families with more severe sleep problems.
