The Face 2 Face
service in Leicestershire offers parents crucial one to one
support around the difficult time of their child being diagnosed
with having additional support needs. This service compliments
existing services in the city and county, such as the Parent
and Carer Council and Menphys SOS.
Our first round
of training was completed in November 2009 and we have 8 volunteer
befrienders available to support parents in Leicestershire
- both City and County.
We are currently
in the process of recruiting volunteers for our second round
of training which will commence on 22 September 2010. This
will run for 9 weeks, every Wednesday until 24 November 2010,
9:45am until 2:30pm. If you are a parent of a child
with additional support needs living in Leicestershire and
would like to become a volunteer befriender, we would love
to hear from you.
