Face 2 Face is an inexpensive way to offer parents the support
they need when they discover their child has a disability. But there are
still costs involved.
The main costs of running Face 2 Face are the salary for the co-ordinator and training for volunteers. Volunteers are also reimbursed for their
travel expenses.
Each project is run by a management group. One of the management group’s
responsibilities is to raise funds to run Face
2 Face in their area.
Some Face 2 Face projects raise money from the National Lottery, others
from Children in Need, charities or trusts. Some are partly funded by
the local authority.
Some schemes apply for funding to cover the co-ordinator’s salary
from, for example, a charity or trust, and then get sponsorship from
elsewhere to cover volunteers expenses.
