Face 2 Face

The Face 2 Face Network has produced a number of materials and resources to help promote the service and recruit vital parent volunteers. These have also been developed to assist schemes starting up and provide a consistent level of service across the country.

Service Leaflet

Used to promote the befriending service locally and nationally, this leaflet provides an introduction to the Face 2 Face Service.

Volunteer Leaflet

This leaflet aims to inform parents about training as volunteer befrienders.

As a parent of a child with a disability you have something unique to offer, why not become a Face 2 Face befriender.

Resources Leaflet

Introduction to the Network's resources including;

  • Scheme Start Up Pack
  • Training Resource Pack
  • Good Practice Guidelines

Information Pack

Good Practice Guidelines

This resource provides a step by step guide to running a Face 2 Face scheme with comprehensive guidelines based on the minimum standards to which the Face 2 Face network adheres. They offer a framework of quality standards, which can be a useful benchmark to measure the quality of support that is given to parents.

Training Resource Pack

This comprehensive resource is modular based and has clearly identified outcomes. The pack includes 40 hours' training that can be delivered as a whole course or in sections, depending on need.

The pack has been developed to ensure individuals supporting parents are prepared and competent to respond to a range of different situations. Modules cover listening skills, handling difficult feelings, managing boundaries and ending the befriending relationship. Download a copy of the Contents Page
