Stronger
Powerful
and emotional drama written and produced by the award-winning
theatre company Women and Theatre
Commissioned by Scope's Strengthening
Families Project, Women
and Theatre has produced a piece of theatre
called ‘Stronger' to raise awareness and
give a forum for open discussion around the pressures that
many families with disabled children and children with additional
support needs face.
The
play was created through research with the help of family
members and tells the story of two families that are at different
stages in their parenting journey. The couples are
drawn together and through their support for each other, we
learn about the different challenges each couple faces in
their daily life with disabled children, but also what strengthens
them.
The script is based
on conversations with families passing on their experiences
of life with disabled children and looks specifically at the
effect this has on the parents' relationship with each other.
Strengthening
Families and Women and Theatre would like to thank everyone
who has contributed to the research and content of this drama
and Building
Stronger Families DVD.
Performances
There are no performances
